The Spirit is conveyed through the abstract element of light and dark. Understated yellow paint intensifies the divine presence of Light. Hidden in the deep blues and purples is thick paint in the form of a serpent, a metaphor for evil. Sand texture invites the viewer to follow the sacred path, even though it is lined with temptations.
This painting was commissioned by the Former Bishop of Helena George Leo Thomas for use in the one-of-a-kind Diocese of Helena Book of Elect.
The original painting is available.

“Your passion of translating the Gospel into abstract spiritual paintings indeed invites new believers into relationship with God,” + George Leo Thomas, Former Bishop of Helena.
Real sand on the path and raised texture lurking in the dark.
